ICF Accredited Coaching Training Program

High-leverage work in business and in schools requires special credentials for impact positions. You can now add—to your Principal Certification, your Mid-Management Certification, or your Superintendent's Certification—a Professional Coach Certification from Results Coaching.

What does this mean for you? It means that in addition to growing and refining your leadership and communication skills in our many varied seminars, you can also enroll in Results Coaching's inspiring and life-changing Coach Training Program and become a credentialed coach through the prestigious International Coaching Federation (ICF).

Your journey begins when you step into the world of Results Coaching's Accredited Coach Training Program (ACTP). You’ll learn from highly qualified instructors who have designed a program with you in mind. You’ll move from acquisition of knowledge to demonstration of skills and competencies in a highly engaging learning environment.

Program Description

Graduates of our Coach Training Program have the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and beliefs of coaching, supported by continuous practice and application of the learning. Seminars are organized into five levels, with each level building on the next. Seminars provide deeper understanding and internalization of the core coaching competencies. A total of 125 hours is required by this program.

Seminar participant groups are designed to maximize individual learning. All Results Coaching faculty instructors are credentialed through the ICF and meet the high standards expected of Results Coaching.

Level I: You Have Options

Select one seminar from the two below. Both seminars total 24 hours of face to face time, plus a one-hour follow-up webinar. This is your entry into the coaching pathway.

1Leadership Coaching for High Performance

Coaching is an incredibly powerful way for educational leaders like you to make an immediate, significant impact in the schools that they lead. Coaching has been proven to transform relationships, increase learning, and dramatically change school cultures.

This seminar is designed specifically for district and school leaders who are committed to engaging in conversations that lead to transformational changes.

Essential components of this highly successful seminar include:

  • Principles of effective leadership coaching
  • Coaching language that produces reflective practice and increased performance
  • Effective coaching behaviors of committed listening, paraphrasing, and presuming positive intent
  • Feedback that empowers, encourages, and effectively communicates
  • Coaching labs designed to accelerate knowledge and skill acquisition

Prerequisite: None

All public seminars total four days and are held online unless otherwise noted.

This course is approved by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and will count toward a participant's credentialing as a Certified Coach.

2Instructional Coaching: Essential for School Success

This seminar is designed to support the work of campus coaches, instructional specialists, and content facilitators as they hone their skills and deepen their knowledge about the role and work of a coach.

This experience will strengthen understanding, skills, and beliefs of any position responsible for supporting others, building relationships, and ultimately increasing performance results.

Learning will focus on:

  • The essential tools and skills of coaching language that promotes positive thinking and problem solving
  • Feedback that accelerates growth conversation tools and frameworks that increase effectiveness and efficiency
  • Current research from neuroscience about why the brain needs coaching along with current research on trust

Prerequisite: None

All public seminars total four days and are held online unless otherwise noted.

This course is approved by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and will count toward a participant's credentialing as a Certified Coach.

3Coaching Strategies for Powerful Leading

This is a webinar-based course, meeting three times for two hours per session (plus outside work that equates to 24 hours). This course may not be taken until after one of the other Level 1 courses has been completed and can actually be taken later in the certification process. Many choose to take this course after completion of our Level II or Level III seminars.

Coaching is transformative. It is a dynamic process that requires continuous reflection, revision, and reenergizing of one's attitudes, knowledge, and skills. This course is an examination of one's priorities, goals, and purpose. Five strategies are examined: creating possibilities, determining purpose, communicating powerfully, taking responsibility, and celebrating success.

Successful leaders will learn how coaching brings clarity and purpose to their roles and relationships.

Essential components of this highly successful seminar include:

  • Principles of effective coach-leaders
  • Coaching language that produces reflective practice and increases performance
  • Effective strategies for creating possibilities, determining purpose, connecting powerfully, taking responsibility, and celebrating success
  • Powerful conversation tools
  • Coaching labs for deep practice designed to accelerate knowledge and skill acquisition

Prerequisite: Leadership Coaching for High Performance or Instructional Coaching

This is a virtual course with independent work.

This course is approved by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and will count toward a participant's credentialing as a Certified Coach.

4Team Coaching

This webinar series is designed for coach leaders who lead and facilitate teams. Examples include leadership teams, PLCs, department teams, grade-level teams, RTI teams, child study teams, and student success teams.

Purpose: To extend coaching mindsets and provide new processes for coaching teams that incorporate the skills of coaching individuals

Outcomes:

  • Participants will identify the characteristics of highly effective teams.
  • Participants will study the ICF's Team Coaching Competencies.
  • Participants will study the Results Coaching Team Coaching model.
  • Participants will practice and receive feedback from each other and the webinar facilitators (Professional Certified Coaches) as they implement team coaching.

Audience:
This webinar series is designed for coach leaders who lead and facilitate teams. Examples include leadership teams, PLCs, department teams, grade-level teams, RTI teams, child study teams, and student success teams.

Prerequisite: Leadership Coaching for High Performance or Instructional Coaching

Description:
The Results Coaching Team Coaching model is specifically designed for coach leaders who use coach teams as single entities. Team coaches will learn to use assessments and processes that address productivity and relationships as areas of potential growth in team effectiveness. The essential skills (committed listening, powerful paraphrasing, presuming positive intent, and reflective feedback) will be revisited and applied with a focus on coaching teams.

This course is approved by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and will count toward a participant's credentialing as a Certified Coach.

Level II: Powerful Coaching

This session is for leaders who want to deeply embed coaching behaviors into their leadership identity and style.

This course is targeted and intended as a major step toward certification by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Content will correlate to and require an application of the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of the ICF Core Competencies.

Outcomes:

  • Assist leaders in the demonstration of their defined coaching skills.
  • Internalize and integrate of coaching behaviors as the default approach for leadership.
  • Focus on the relationship of the applied competencies and transformative results.

Prerequisite:
Coaching Strategies for Powerful Leading, Leadership Coaching for High Performance, or Instructional Coaching: Essential for School Success

All public seminars total four days and are held online unless otherwise noted.

This course is approved by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and will count toward a participant's credentialing as a Certified Coach.

Level III: Advanced Coaching

This seminar is designed for educators who seek certification as a professional coach from the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

Content will focus on the integration of coach-specific skills into one's identity as a coach. Learners will experience a continuous feedback cycle beginning with self-assessment. Working beside an ICF Certified Coach, learners will prepare, coach, and reflect on the development of their own coaching skills.

Outcomes:

  • Become grounded in the beliefs and assumptions of the ICF Core Competencies.
  • Consistently utilize Results Coaching's essential skills (committed listening, powerful paraphrasing, presuming positive intent, and reflective feedback).
  • Offer feedback that sustains and supports the development of others.
  • Emphasize the inherent relationship between coaching and transformative results.

Prerequisite: Powerful Coaching

This course is approved by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and will count toward a participant's credentialing as a Certified Coach.

Level IV: Coaching Practicum (Mentoring)

Once an applicant has registered for mentoring and payment has been received by Results Coaching, the mentoring process begins. The mentee will have eight full months to complete the mentoring process under the current registration. Should additional time be needed for the mentee, he or she will be expected to register for additional mentoring.

Prerequisite: Level III Seminar

Level V: Personal Reflection and Introspection

This webinar-based seminar is designed for educators who seek certification as a professional coach from the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Content will focus on strengths and tendencies assessments that offer individual insight and introduce potential coaches to additional tools and strategies for coaching others.

Expectations:

  • Completion of Levels I, II, and III
  • Completion of assessments
  • Application and reflection on assessments prior to Reach session

Expectations for Completion of the Results Coaching ACTP:

  • Documentation of attendance and participation in all training sessions
  • Documentation of attendance and participation in webinars and completion of all web-based coursework
  • Mentor coach relationship as described in the curriculum
  • Official coaching log with required ICF information
  • Completion of a written exam covering the knowledge and skills of the Results Coaching curriculum (score of 80% or higher)
  • Completion of a coaching oral exam (30 minutes), scored by two Results Coaching assessors (who hold PCC or MCC credentials), demonstrating PCC proficiency

Level VI: Alternative Certification Path

Delivery will vary and could include webinar learning, face-to-face learning, and working with a mentor. This path requires a minimum of 25 hours.

This is an alternative pathway for certification for those who bring experience from other coach training programs. The purpose of this seminar is to articulate the standards and expectations of Results Coaching and assess mastery of competency as a coach, building upon the curriculum and performance objectives of program courses. This level may also serve to prepare for PCC credentialing.
