Core Competency Study
Purpose
To deepen the internalization and implementation of core competencies and ethics of coaching.
Outcomes
Learners will have the opportunity to:
- Study the newly revised core competencies and ethics
- Observe a coaching conversation with observation and feedback
- Learn and receive feedback from a mentor coach credentialed as a Master Certified Coach (MCC)
Session 1: Ethical Standards in Coaching and Coach Educators' Ethics
Overview
Ethical standards are the backbone of a successful coaching practice and effective coach education. This session explores key ethical principles outlined by the ICF and the ethics that guide coach educators in fostering responsible coaching practices.
Understand Coaching Ethics
Discover the essential ethical standards that govern coaching practice and enhance trust and integrity in coach-client relationships.
Explore the ICF Code of Ethics
Gain insight into the ICF Code of Ethics, including key principles such as professional conduct, confidentiality, and conflict of interest.
Navigate Ethical Dilemmas
Engage in discussions about ethical challenges faced by coaches.
Ethical Considerations for Coach Educators
Learn about the responsibilities of coach educators, including fostering a safe learning environment, respecting confidentiality, and ensuring fair assessment.
Application
Participate in breakout sessions to examine ethical scenarios, identify potential issues, and propose best practices for ethical decision-making.
